Blocks the ads. Keeps quiet.

A free browser extension that stops ads, trackers and pop-ups before the page can load them. YouTube ads included. No account, no settings to wade through.

One icon in the toolbar and a small panel. It counts what it stopped on the page you’re on, splits that into requests, ad slots, pop-ups and video ads, keeps a running total since you installed it, and stays out of the way the rest of the time.

What Rabbit Ad Blocker does.

Ads go before the page draws

Requests get stopped at the network layer, so you never see the gap where the banner was going to be.

Trackers get the same treatment

The scripts that follow you between sites are blocked alongside the ads, because they are usually the same scripts.

Nothing to configure

Install it and it works. The panel is the whole interface: one switch, four counters and a button to pause it on the one site that insists.

What it asks of you.

An ad blocker needs permission to read every page you open, which is a lot to ask. The help page lists every permission it requests and what each one is for, so you can decide for yourself before you install it. The extension also ships unminified, so you can unpack what your browser installed and read it line by line.

Tab Management

Rabbit Smart Tab

Sixty tabs open. Again.

Smart Tab clears the tab bar without losing anything. Save one tab, a whole window, or everything you have not touched in hours, and it closes them and hands the memory back. One click brings any of it back, tab groups included. None of it leaves your browser.

A side panel you open when the tab bar has got away from you. It shows what you have saved, roughly how much memory came back, and a search box for finding the tab you meant.

What Rabbit Smart Tab does.

Out of the way, not lost

Save a tab or a whole window in one click. Smart Tab keeps the title, the address and the group it was in, then closes it and gives you the memory back.

Idle tabs tidy themselves

Turn on auto-archiving and anything you have not touched for two hours is saved and closed for you. The tab you are reading and anything pinned are left alone.

Close a window without losing it

Everything you save is searchable and sorted into workspaces, so picking the session back up tomorrow is one click rather than an archaeology exercise.

It all happens on your machine

Titles, addresses and the snippet of page text that makes search work are stored in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, and there is no account.

Before you install it

What it asks of you.

Worth being upfront about this: a tab manager has to read the titles and addresses of your open tabs, and Smart Tab also keeps a short snippet of each saved page so you can search for it later. All of that reading happens inside your browser and stays there. Nothing is uploaded, there’s no account, and there’s no sync server holding a copy of your session. The help page lists every permission and what it is for.

File Converter

Filebender

Any file, into the one you need.

HEIC photos into JPG, a video into a GIF, a Word file into PDF, a PDF small enough to email. Filebender converts, compresses and resizes more than 300 kinds of file, says before you start what a conversion will lose and how big the result will be, and deletes everything an hour later.

One box to drop files into, a row per file with the format it becomes, and a gear for the details: size, quality, codec, page size. It also opens files straight from Google Drive and saves the results back there.

How it helps

What Filebender does.

Almost any file

Images, vector art, video, audio, documents, spreadsheets, slides, ebooks and archives, with resizing and compression in the same step. Drop in a folder's worth and pick a format for each.

No surprises

It checks what each file really is, says what a conversion will lose before it runs, and estimates the size. Ask for a file under 5 MB and it lands under 5 MB, or tells you it can't.

Gone in an hour

Files are deleted an hour after they're converted, or the moment you press Delete. Location data is stripped from photos. There's no account, and nothing is kept to learn from.

Unlike the extensions, Filebender needs a server: your files are uploaded to Rabbit Labs' servers on Google Cloud, converted there in locked-down containers with no internet access, and deleted an hour later. Nobody looks at them. The privacy policy has the details, including what the request logs keep and for how long.

How we work

The same rules for everything we ship.

Free, and staying that way

There's no pro tier waiting in the wings. If we ever charge for something, it'll be a new product, not a lock on this one.

We don't keep your data

The extensions collect nothing: no browsing data, no usage stats, no crash pings. Filebender needs a server to convert files, and deletes them an hour later.

You can read the code

Nothing we ship is minified or obfuscated. Unpack the extension your browser installed and read exactly what it does. Filebender's page scripts are unminified too.

No sign-up

Handing over an email address to use a privacy tool, or to convert one file, has always been a bit absurd. You won't do it here.
