JPG to PDF

Turn photos and pictures into PDF documents.

To put several photos into one PDF, use Images to PDF.

Put a photo, scan or screenshot on a PDF page, ready to email, print or upload where only PDFs are accepted. PNG pictures work here too.

Almost any file

Images, vector art, video, audio, documents, spreadsheets, slides, ebooks and archives: more than 400 conversions. Before anything runs, Filebender says what a conversion will lose and estimates the size of video, audio and many pictures; other files show their size once converted. It compresses PDFs, pictures and videos to the size you choose.

No ads, no watermarks

With a free account: 20 files a day, 2 of them videos, each up to 500 MB. No plan has ads, and nothing is stamped on your files. A pass is one payment that never renews, and one you haven't used can be refunded in full.

Private by default

Files are deleted an hour after converting, or at once when you ask, and photo location is removed unless you choose to keep it. Photos converted to JPG, PNG or WebP are done on your device when your browser can, so they never leave it. They still need your account and count towards your plan.

How to convert JPG to PDF

  1. Create a free account with Google or your email address, or sign in.
  2. Choose your files: drop them on the box, pick them from your computer, open them from Google Drive, or paste a link.
  3. Pick the format each file should become. The gear button has size, quality and other settings.
  4. Press “Convert”, then download each file, or all of them in one ZIP.

One picture, one PDF

Each JPG you add becomes its own one-page PDF, so ten photos give you ten PDFs, which download one by one or together in a ZIP.

To put several photos into a single PDF, use Images to PDF instead: it builds one PDF on your device, in the order you choose. It needs your account too, and the PDF counts as one file.

Page size

By default the page is the size and shape of the photo, which suits reading on a screen. For printing, or a form that expects paper sizes, choose A4 or Letter in the settings and each picture is scaled to fit the page.

Quality, size and privacy

The picture keeps its full resolution. JPG stores photos very compactly, so a PDF holding the same photo can be bigger than the JPG; if it's too big to send, make the photo smaller with the resize settings first, or shrink the PDF afterwards with the PDF Compressor.

Location, camera and date details are removed from the photo before it goes into the PDF, unless you choose to keep them.

Questions

Will the photo be the right way up?

Yes. Phones record which way up a photo was taken, and Filebender turns the picture to match before making the page.

Does it work with scanned documents?

Yes. A scan saved as JPG becomes a PDF page that looks the same. Its words are still part of the picture, though; to search and copy them, use Make a PDF Searchable, which adds a layer of text.

Which pictures can I add?

JPG and PNG, and most other picture formats too, including HEIC, WEBP and TIFF: add them here and each becomes a PDF.

Is Filebender free?

Yes, with a free account: 20 files every day (up to 2 of them videos), each up to 500 MB, with no watermark and no ads. Make the account with Google or your email address. Files converted on your device count the same way as the rest. If you need more, a Day, Week or Month Pass is one payment that never renews; see the Pricing page.

What happens to my files?

It depends on the file. Pictures your browser can convert itself, and everything you do with the PDF tools, from merging and splitting PDFs to putting photos into one, are handled on your device and never leave it, unless you choose to send a file to Filebender's servers. They still need your account: Filebender receives only their type and size, to count them against your plan like any other file. Everything else is converted on Filebender's servers on Google Cloud and deleted an hour after the conversion finishes, or straight away when you press “Delete files now”. Nobody looks at your files, and they're never used for anything else.

Is there a size limit?

With a free account, each file can be up to 500 MB (about 4 minutes of HD phone video), and a batch can have up to 20 files. Any pass takes files up to 2 GB (about 15 minutes of HD video).
