Almost any file

Images, vector art, video, audio, documents, spreadsheets, slides, ebooks and archives: more than 400 conversions. Before anything runs, Filebender says what a conversion will lose and estimates the size of video, audio and many pictures; other files show their size once converted. It compresses PDFs, pictures and videos to the size you choose.

No ads, no watermarks

With a free account: 20 files a day, 2 of them videos, each up to 500 MB. No plan has ads, and nothing is stamped on your files. A pass is one payment that never renews, and one you haven't used can be refunded in full.

Private by default

Files are deleted an hour after converting, or at once when you ask, and photo location is removed unless you choose to keep it. Photos converted to JPG, PNG or WebP are done on your device when your browser can, so they never leave it. They still need your account and count towards your plan.

How to convert EPUB to PDF

  1. Create a free account with Google or your email address, or sign in.
  2. Choose your files: drop them on the box, pick them from your computer, open them from Google Drive, or paste a link.
  3. Pick the format each file should become. The gear button has size, quality and other settings.
  4. Press “Convert”, then download each file, or all of them in one ZIP.

From reflowing text to pages

An EPUB has no fixed pages: a reader lays the text out to fit its screen. Making a PDF sets the text on fixed pages once, with page numbers at the foot, so it prints and reads the same almost everywhere but no longer adjusts to a small screen.

Page size

Choose A4 or Letter in the settings to match the paper you print on. The text is laid out for that page, not shrunk to fit it, so it stays a comfortable size.

What comes across

Chapters, headings, pictures and the cover usually come across. Fonts the book includes are used where they can be, and a standard font stands in otherwise. Books built around fixed layouts, such as picture books and comics, may not look as intended.

Questions

Can it convert a book I bought?

Only if it has no copy protection (DRM). Many books bought from ebook stores have it, and those are refused; books sold without DRM, and ones you made yourself, convert as normal.

How big will the PDF be?

Books of text make small PDFs, and books with many pictures make bigger ones. The size shows once it's converted, because ebooks can't be estimated beforehand.

Can I get an EPUB back from the PDF?

PDF to EPUB works on the PDF Converter, but the text is rebuilt from the pages, so keep the original EPUB if you have it.

Is Filebender free?

What happens to my files?

It depends on the file. Pictures your browser can convert itself, and everything you do with the PDF tools, from merging and splitting PDFs to putting photos into one, are handled on your device and never leave it, unless you choose to send a file to Filebender's servers. They still need your account: Filebender receives only their type and size, to count them against your plan like any other file. Everything else is converted on Filebender's servers on Google Cloud and deleted an hour after the conversion finishes, or straight away when you press “Delete files now”. Nobody looks at your files, and they're never used for anything else.
