PNG to SVG
Trace logos and line art from PNG or JPG into SVG.
PNG to SVG traces a picture: it finds areas of colour in the pixels and redraws them as shapes. The result can be scaled to any size without going blurry, which is why designers want logos, icons and line art as SVG. It takes JPGs as well as PNGs.
Almost any file
Images, vector art, video, audio, documents, spreadsheets, slides, ebooks and archives: more than 400 conversions. Before anything runs, Filebender says what a conversion will lose and estimates the size of video, audio and many pictures; other files show their size once converted. It compresses PDFs, pictures and videos to the size you choose.
No ads, no watermarks
With a free account: 20 files a day, 2 of them videos, each up to 500 MB. No plan has ads, and nothing is stamped on your files. A pass is one payment that never renews, and one you haven't used can be refunded in full.
Private by default
Files are deleted an hour after converting, or at once when you ask, and photo location is removed unless you choose to keep it. Photos converted to JPG, PNG or WebP are done on your device when your browser can, so they never leave it. They still need your account and count towards your plan.
How to convert PNG to SVG
- Create a free account with Google or your email address, or sign in.
- Choose your files: drop them on the box, pick them from your computer, open them from Google Drive, or paste a link.
- Pick the format each file should become. The gear button has size, quality and other settings.
- Press “Convert”, then download each file, or all of them in one ZIP.
What traces well
Clean artwork with flat colours and clear edges comes out closest to the original: logos, icons, signatures, simple illustrations and scanned line drawings. Photos, soft shadows and gradients turn into many small patches of colour, a posterised look, with a large file to match.
Start from the biggest, sharpest copy you have. A tiny or blurry picture gives lumpy curves.
How it's traced
Filebender traces in colour and draws outlines as smooth curves rather than straight segments. Words in the picture become shapes too, not editable text, so check the lettering, corners and colours before you use the SVG anywhere important.
Where it's converted
Tracing runs on Filebender's servers. Your picture is uploaded, traced and deleted an hour after converting, and the SVG counts as one of your files, whichever format you started from. With a free account that's 20 files a day, each up to 500 MB.

Questions
Will the SVG match my logo perfectly?
Closely, not perfectly. Tracing has to judge where edges fall, so sharp corners can round off and fine details can merge. For a logo you'll use widely, treat the SVG as a strong starting point and tidy it in a drawing program.
Can I trace a photo?
You can, but expect a painted, posterised result and a large file. Photos are better kept as JPG or WEBP.
Can I go the other way?
Yes. SVG to PNG draws an SVG as a PNG at the size you choose, which suits places that won't take SVG.
Is Filebender free?
Yes, with a free account: 20 files every day (up to 2 of them videos), each up to 500 MB, with no watermark and no ads. Make the account with Google or your email address. Files converted on your device count the same way as the rest. If you need more, a Day, Week or Month Pass is one payment that never renews; see the Pricing page.
What happens to my files?
It depends on the file. Pictures your browser can convert itself, and everything you do with the PDF tools, from merging and splitting PDFs to putting photos into one, are handled on your device and never leave it, unless you choose to send a file to Filebender's servers. They still need your account: Filebender receives only their type and size, to count them against your plan like any other file. Everything else is converted on Filebender's servers on Google Cloud and deleted an hour after the conversion finishes, or straight away when you press “Delete files now”. Nobody looks at your files, and they're never used for anything else.
